Vintage Towle Sterling Silver Vanity Jar Mirror Lid Pattern 846 Monogram W

Beautiful vintage Art Deco crystal vanity powder jar and trinket box crafted by the renowned Towle Silversmiths, matching factory design pattern number 846. This elegant dressing table piece features a heavy, thick-walled crystal base decorated with classic vertical fluted columns and an intricate starburst cut pattern on the bottom. The removable lid is crafted from genuine sterling silver stamped Weighted and Reinforced on the inner rim, featuring a built-in dressing mirror on the underside and a beautiful, classic vintage W monogram custom-engraved on the top center. It serves as a perfect historical display piece for a bedroom vanity set, or for safely storing loose face powder, jewelry, and small vanity items.  Towle introduced its core collection of structural dressing table accessories and vanity jars in the early 1940s, the Pattern #846 design remained a popular staple throughout the post-WWII era and right into the late 1940s.  In terms of condition, the piece is in lovely, stable vintage shape. The cut crystal glass base remains clean, clear, and completely free of chips or cracks, while the underside vanity mirror is intact, securely seated, and fully usable. Please note that the sterling silver lid displays light microabrasions, consistent with its age and decades of routine polishing.
